Monica & Ben’s wedding at NYLO – Plano

Monica and Ben were such a fun couple to work with! I wish them nothing but success and happiness in the future. Given the awesome setting we had at the Plano NYLO, coupled with the beautiful weather that rolled in for us, I just knew it was going to be a great night, which it surely was… (even if the Rangers did get blown out in game 3 of the World Series).

Many thanks to the incredible staff at the NYLO Plano (www.nylohotels.com),  the DJ, who we have shot with many times, Daniel Frie at DJ Freespin (www.djfreespin.com), and my good friend, and associate photographer, Phanee Gudapati for helping to make this night amazing for Monica & Ben.

IAM Corporate Headshots

We got a call from Jarrod Upton, Sr. VP at IAM, to come in and freshen up their image with some new headshots. Jarrod is a long time client of ours from years past, and we were excited to hear that he had joined up with a great firm like IAM. For those that do not know, IAM is an investment firm located here in Plano, TX that really focuses on the goals of the client. Jarrod stated that “IAM’s financial planning team provides highly-personalized service, and we strive to understand your most important goals, and work with the client on finding ways to achieve them”. Having met and worked with IAM I can confidently state that I am a believer. If your looking for a firm to help you achieve your goals, and most importantly, one you can trust, then reach out to Jarrod and the team at IAM. (www.iaminvest.com)

Miracle Recreation Catalog Shoot

We were fortunate to get an opportunity to work with Miracle Recreation doing some catalog shots on a new style of fitness system they had installed in Oklahoma. This was really a fun shoot, and the company was so easy to work with! Having had the opportunity to look at, and work with their products, I can say with confidence that they really put together a quality product (and I am in no way compensated to say this). While we were given an opportunity to photograph a ton more for next years catalog, we were not able to work it into this years crazy schedule, but we look forward to working with them again in the future.

Assignment for Independent Banker Magazine

We got a call last week to do a photoshoot for Independent Banker Magazine. The first thought tooccur to me was that the magazine would want the traditional stuffy banker type pictures, but to my surprise, they actually wanted the images to reflect the exact opposite, and wanted the shoot to depict more of what the subject enjoyed doing. I was pretty excited about the prospect of doing something different, so I reached out to Mike Brewer, President and CEO of Security First National Bank in Oklahoma, and the subject of the assignment, and asked him some of the things he liked to do, and we finally agreed that it might be fun to do a shoot on his ranch. I have to say, Mike really has a beautiful spread, and we had a blast doing the shoot. Here are just a few shots from the session. I will post up the final tear sheet once the magazine chooses the image they will be using.

Sneek Peek – Laura & Chad, Paris TX.

We were asked to do a small wedding for a couple in Paris TX, which just happened to work out really well as we were already scheduled to be working from our Oklahoma office that week. Laura and Chad were a really fun couple to work with, although poor Chad, (who is a firefighter with Paris F.D.) broke his foot just before the wedding. Although Chad was a trooper the whole way through, there was no jumping around or dancing at this wedding. Apparently Chad is quite the prankster, so the going away was truly extra special, and although I thought I had seen it all… there was so much yet for me to learn because the paybacks to Chad were one of a kind. We were very lucky to have an Engine from Paris FD available to us, and while I wish I could have spent some more time shooting in, on, and around the Engine,  I was thrilled with the 5 or 10 minutes that we had.

Here is a quick, low-res sneek peak from Laura & Chads wedding.

Sneak Peak – Deena & Gerardo’s Oklahoma Wedding

This past weekend we were working from our office in Hugo Oklahoma and shot Deena & Gerardo’s wedding. Deena & Gerardo were married at the First Christian Church in Hugo, Oklahoma and the reception was held at Deena’s parents ranch outside of town. I am not sure if there was anything more we could have asked for, as the weather was simply beautiful, and the bride and groom were so much fun to work with! I was pretty excited to share a few sneak peek images from the wedding, as well as a quick video.

The Booth at Tylers Life Ceremony…

I love setting up our photo booth, and no matter what kind of venue we are at… everyone has a ton of fun including us! Sunday we set up the booth at Tylers Life Ceremony, and everyone got in on the action… including the band. Many thanks to Tom Thompson for working the booth with us on Sunday.

Here are a few of my favorites from inside the photobooth…

Tyler Matjeka’s Life Ceremony, with Sarah Reeves at Piazza in the Village.

Last Sunday we photographed Tyler’s Life Ceremony at the Piazza in the Village. When we were told that Sarah Reeves would be performing, we knew this would really be an incredible night. Big Kudos go out to the Piazza, as their staff was totally awesome to work with, and the food was simply incredible. If you are getting married in the near future… I would really keep this venue on your short list.

Here are a few photos from Sarah Reeves’ performance…

Stand Up 4 Jesus @ the Allen Event Center with Point of Grace & Caedmons Call.

So if you have been following my facebook posts, you know that we got a call from Craig Nedrow Ministries to shoot for a few hours at the Allen Event Center on Saturday. The SU4J  had a huge turn-out to listen to several speakers including Craig Nedrow and Trey Graham, but without doubt the most exciting part of the evening for most fans had to be  listening to “Point of Grace” do their set, and getting autographs from them. Gold Imagery was excited to be a part of such a big night, and we look forward to doing some more events with SU4J.

Here are a few low-res mages from the event…

Some Studio Time

The past few days I have been trying to spend some time in the studio with Sara, who is interning with us this summer. Our goal has been to work on her lighting skills, but I just could not resist getting in a few shots myself.

Alexis’ Bridal Portrait @ Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

Now that Alexis is married, there is nothing wrong with us showing off her bridal portraits! Alexis really wanted to do something outdoors, but wanted a location that was not typically used for bridals. After kicking around a few ideas, we settled on shooting at Arbor hills Nature Preserve.  Here are just  a few of favorites from the session…

Special thanks to Tom Drinkwater for assisting me on the shoot.

Alexis & Josh’s Wedding

Alexis & Josh got married at St Phillips Catholic Church in Lewisville, followed by the reception at Coyote Ridge Golf Club in Carrolton. Once again, another great wedding, and a really fun reception. Special thanks to Barbara Trotter & Coyote Ridge Golf Club, Mel with Melodies & Memories, Candy Haven for the awesome candy bar, YaYa’s House who created all the floral decorations, and Warren Gold with Gold Imagery.

Here are a few low resolution teasers…

Rachel & John @ Good Shepherd Catholic Church

We shot Rachel & John’s wedding on the 5th, and despite working extra hard to keep everyone from melting, we had an awesome time. I was lucky enough to meet Rachel while on a corporate headshot assignment for her employer Rosenthal Retirement Planning, and as expected the whole gang from work was there, so this wedding sort of had a double meaning for me as I got to see them all again.

Here are a few low-res teaser images from Rachel & John’s wedding…

Jennifer & Chris

Jennifer & Chris got hitched at Stonebridge Country Club on May 23rd!  While it was a really hot day, we were pretty lucky to have a good strong breeze to keeep thing just a little cooler. Speaking of hot, I got some hot pictures of Jennifer & Chris when we had a moment to break away from the crowd for some couples pictures. The wedding was beautiful, and the staff at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club is simply fabulous to work with.

Here are a few low res images from the wedding.

Katherine & Stephen

Katherine & Stephen were married on May 22nd at the Salvation Army Chapel in Plano, and had their reception at the Los Rios Country Club. We had an awesome time at their wedding which was performed in both Spanish & English. I had a chance to shoot Katherines bridal much earlier this year, so we will try to get a few photos of that up on the blog as well. For me, I think one of the greatest aspects of my profession is getting to know my clients on such a personal level, and the friendships that we create.

Here are a few low res images from the wedding…

Rachel & John’s Engagement Session @ the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens (Japanese Gardens)

A couple weeks ago I had an opportunity to shoot Rachel & John’s engagement session over at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. I gotta say it is really gorgeous over there, and this was my first opportunity to shoot here so I was really excited about it. For those that do not know, there is an $75.00 fee imposed by the gardens if you decide to shoot here, but I certainly think it is worth it. Rachel & John are getting married June 5th at Good Shepard Catholic Church in Colleyville.

Many thanks to Tom Drinkwater who assisted me with this session. Here are a few of my favorites…

Kathryn’s Senior Session – Arbor Hills

Tuesday I got a chance to shoot Kathryn who is a Senior at Plano East.  Kathryn has an awesome personality which really showed through while we were shooting, and  there is no doubt she is a one of a kind. We shot Kathryn’s session over at Arbor Hills here in Plano, and despite it being a Tuesday afternoon… it was packed with people.

Thanks to Phanee Gudapati for his assistance on this shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

We Are Rebranding!

© 2010 Warren Gold

What? No, nothing has changed… your still stuck with me! But seriously, after 5 years the time has come for us to start our rebranding process. We are really excited to make this switch, but we are committed to making the transition as seamless as possible. With that said, our clients will find that we will slowly transition out the use of the Point & Shoot Photography logo over the coming year. Our plan is to get our existing clients used to the new branding, but we will continue to maintain the Point & Shoot Photography business.

What does this mean for you? Nothing at all. It will be business as usual, and all contracts and commitments will be unaffected. We are simply rebranding the company, and moving away from the Point & Shoot Photography name to something that better fits who we are and what we do. We look forward to continuing our relationships with the clients that have helped us make the company what it is. Without you there could be no Gold Imagery, so we thank you graciously!
